*PRIDE AND ITS CONSEQUENCES.*(Series 8) *Scripture Reading:* John 13:13-16 *"You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you are right in doing so, for that is who I am. So if I, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet as well. For I gave you [this as] an example, so that you should do [in turn] as I did to you. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him."*(AMP) Thank God for His Grace and mercy we have enjoyed so far at the beginning of this series. We will be concluding the series today by God's Grace and yesterday, we started looking at safeguard for pride. I discussed Submission as one of the safeguard for pride. We shall continue from where we stopped yesterday. *2) SERVANTHOOD:* Servanthood simply mean a person who dedicate himself to God. Once you dedicate or release yourself to God, you are no more your own, you belong to Him and He then now control your life to align to His will. Jesus made it clear to His disciples that Submission and Servanthood can not be overemphasize. Especially the elect of God. *Jesus played the role of Servanthood by washing His disciples feet and ordered them to do likewise.* Submission and servanthood are safeguards for pride. We need to daily submit to God. We need to humble ourselves under His mighty hand. We must understand that it’s with/through Him that all things are made possible. All the glory belongs to Him. *Submit to His Will and Way. Stop focusing on “I” and focus on Jesus! Humble yourself before God and ask Him to humble you* (Isaiah 2:11). Less of me and more of You, God! Then start serving others. Great leaders serve! Get the focus off yourself and off of what others can do for you. See what you can do to be a blessing to someone. Submission and servanthood are all traits of the humbled. *Humbled people know they aren’t better than anyone else and that they’re only here by the grace of God. Humbled people don’t exalt themselves, they exalt the Lord.* Living prideful is living dangerous. No one wants to be opposed by God. You are helped in Jesus Christ name.
