Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 2:34-35

“This will be the sign to you which shall come concerning your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas: on the same day both of them shall die. But I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who will do according to what is in My heart and in My soul; and I will build him a permanent and enduring house, and he will walk before My anointed forever.”(AMP)

Glory to God in the highest for yet another privilege to witness another beautiful day, sufficient Grace upon us all in Jesus Christ name. Today by God’s Grace, I will be rounding up the series.

Any form of pollution to your spirit, soul or body is a strange fire. 1 Corinthians 10:23 declare; “All things are lawful [that is, morally legitimate, permissible], but not all things are beneficial or advantageous. All things are lawful, but not all things are constructive [to character] and edifying [to spiritual life].” The fact that somethings are right, doesn’t mean, it edify. Spiritual sensitivity is require to every child of God as not to offer strange fire on God’s altar.

If God didn’t spare Nadab and Abihu, Gehazi, Hophni and phinehas, Judas Iscariot etc. The principles has not changed. God gave Moses principles that pertains offering of incense in the holy place and these principles must be well observe and practice at the tabernacle before the Lord and the entire Israelites. In the same way, the doctrine of Jesus Christ is to act, follow and practice His teaching.

Hophni and phinehas make the name of God to be blasphemed before the whole congregation, and Eli knew it. Eli did not bring an end to it. Eli gave occasion for the faithful remnant to despair all the more! Eli never enforced the things he talked about. He never brought his sons to see what it was to tremble before the justice of the living God. He could talk with weeping and grieving heart, but his talk was not effective. His sons needed to be excommunicated from the priesthood and put out of the temple.

They showed no sign of repentance. They repeatedly returned to their same sins. The Old Testament law would have required that the sons be driven out of the city and stoned for their blasphemous actions in the tabernacle of God. In our scripture today, we can see how God dealt with Eli’s household because he failed in honoring the Lord. Today, haven’t we see so many ministers who has ignorantly allowed their children offering strange fire on God’s altar.

God is not a man that will be deceived. You don’t just appear before the Lord to worship but to offer as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable for this is your reasonable service (Romans 12:1). Let your entire life be fire, living sacrifice to God and permit this principles and doctrines be known to your children and generation to come. You are strengthen and helped in Jesus Christ name. Good morning and do have a great day, peace.

Prayer point: Holy Spirit, make me a living fire, sacrifice, holy and acceptable. Purify and sanctify me for acceptable service in Jesus Christ name.
