*WHAT ARE YOU BECOMING? STRETCH YOURSELF.*(Series 4) *Scripture Reading:* Acts 9:38-39 *"Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, urging him, “Come to us without delay.” So Peter got up [at once] and went with them. When he arrived, they brought him into the upstairs room; and all the widows stood beside him, weeping and showing [him] all the tunics and robes that Dorcas used to make while she was with them."*(AMP) Yesterday, I started sharing about a disciple at Joppa that discovered her purpose of living in Christ Jesus. Let me continue from where I stopped yesterday. What you eventually becomes in life, is paramount to your encounter in Jesus. Just as I said yesterday, no one can discover his/her purpose in life outside Christ. *One thing is to discover and another thing is to humbly submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit and then stretching further towards God's original purpose.* Tabitha, was a charitable person who made things, especially clothing, for the needy in Joppa. The story of Dorcas in Acts 9 is notable because Peter raised her back to life after she had died. Dorcas was known for her good works and acts of love for the poor (Acts 9:36); she was much loved in the community of Joppa. When she became ill and died, the entire community was in pain and the believers who knew Dorcas heard that Peter was in the nearby town of Lydda, and they sent for him. The Bible does not specifically say that the disciples at Joppa were hoping for Peter to resurrect Dorcas, but they did call urgently for him (Acts 9:38). When Peter arrived at the home where Dorcas’ body had been laid out, he went up to see the body. *There were many widows there, weeping. They all showed Peter “the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them”—tangible evidence of Dorcas’ loving service.* (Acts 9:39) What a fulfilled life. When one's purpose of living is discovered early enough, it resorted in being a blessing and savior even to many generations. Joseph discovered this early enough at seventeen years old. He knew he was going to be great and through him, many lives including his family will be rescued from severe famine ahead of them. *No wonder he endure all the making (processes) even to the very house of Potiphar that led him to the prison of becoming a second in command (prime minister).* What you become in life is a concern to God because His plans towards you are good and not evil (Jeremiah 29:11). And that can only be discovered only and when you abide in Him. To be continue tomorrow morning by God's Grace.
