Scripture Reading: James 5:17-18

“Elijah was a man with a nature like ours [with the same physical, mental, and spiritual limitations and shortcomings], and he prayed intensely for it not to rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land produced its crops [as usual].”(AMP)

I welcome you to another beautiful week. Its of the Lord’s mercy that we are not consume by the enemy. Blessed be the name of the Lord who has not giving us as prey to their teeth.

Yesterday, I started showing you the tricks of the devil, making you to believe that God is a liar. Continuation from where I stopped yesterday:

Lie (3): God is not going to answer your prayers: Satan will point out situations where it looks like God didn’t answer prayers. He reminds us of people we prayed for who died. He points out people we have prayed for to be saved who have not yet responded to the gospel. Devil will remind you of all your unanswered prayer point by God. Why are you wasting your time still believing God? “God won’t answer your prayers. Don’t bother praying for this again.”

Yet God tells us in Matthew 7:7-8; “Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened.”(AMP). Our today’s scripture tells us about a like ours, Elijah who pray and cause the rain to seize and also pray that it should rain again and it rained. Never you pay attention to the devil’s lies.

Lie (4): Nothing will happen to you if you sin: Remember in Genesis chapter Three, how the devil deceived the woman that eating the fruit will not killed her. Truly, it doesn’t killed them physically but separated them from God. And that’s exactly what the devil wanted to achieve. Satan will tell us we can commit sin with no consequences. He will tell us we can commit sexual sin, or we can lie or steal or harbor unforgiveness. He will lie to us and tell us that to do something just once won’t hurt anything. He will tell us no one will find out.

Yet God warns us again and again to desist from sin because it’s deadly (Romans 6:23). Every one of us has sinned and deserves death, both physical and eternal, yet God is so merciful, when we believe in Jesus, he delivers us out of spiritual death and gives us eternal life. Yet we want to believe Satan’s lie that we can sin and suffer no consequences. When believers willfully sin, they often suffer horrible consequences. Marriages suffer, families suffer, churches suffer, individuals suffer etc. To be continue tomorrow morning by God’s Grace. Good morning and do have a fruitful week, peace.

Prayer point: Father, help me to patiently wait for all your promises for my life. I will not compromise in Jesus Christ name. Amen!
