*WRONG PATTERN OF PRAYER.*(Series 4) *Scripture Reading:* Matthew 7:7-8 *"Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened."*(AMP) Yesterday, I started showing you some likely reasons why we pray amiss. We shall continue from where we stopped: *3) NO SCRIPTURAL BACKING:* Praying without scriptural backing which means praying with the word of God, such prayers are not right and might not get the desired results. When we approach God in prayers as Christians, think of what you are praying about, search for the scripture in line with the issues or situation or the reason for the prayer and use it to pray to God making sure it is in the boundary of the will of God. The scripture above affirmed that God has committed Himself that if we ask, we will receive. For example, you're praying on God's protection. To back up your prayer, use His word to remind Him. Isaiah 43:1-2 says; *"But now, this is what the Lord, your Creator says, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you [from captivity]; I have called you by name; you are Mine! “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you."*(AMP). The devil cannot withstand it when you use the right pattern to pray. *4) PRAYING IN FEAR AND DOUBT:* When you pray in fear and doubt in the heart, you are already praying amiss. As Christians, we should have faith in God wholeheartedly that he will do it and if he didn’t do what we prayed for, we should have that assurance that he is preparing much better things for us as our father. just like the three Hebrew men that responded to king Nebuchadnezzar with faith: *"If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up!”*(Daniel 3:17-18 AMP). There's no fear and doubt in their heart, they strongly believe God. To be continue tomorrow morning by God's Grace.
