Scripture Reading: Matthew 5:23

“So if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and while there you remember that your brother has something [such as a grievance or legitimate complaint] against you, leave your offering there at the altar and go. First make peace with your brother, and then come and present your offering.”(AMP)

Continuation from where i stopped yesterday on why we don’t receive when we ask God in prayer:

4) Strife, Anger, and Unforgiveness: We can fail to receive answers to our prayers because of strife, anger and unforgiveness. Christians who would not have any problems with sins of the flesh very often do have serious problems with sins of the attitude. Broken relationships can hinder our relationship with God and block the answers to prayer from coming through to us.

Paul wrote in I Timothy 2:8; “Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger and disputing or quarreling or doubt [in their mind].”(AMP). These are the hindrances to prayers. There’s absolutely no way an anger spirit will receive anything from God because anger is an enemy of God. In the same way, today’s Scripture (Matthew 5:22) was a command to everyone including the clergy that must be obeyed or continue operating under a close heaven. So He is telling us, “Clear every channel that your prayers are not hindered.”

I Peter 3:7 talks about strife between husbands and wives. He says that if husbands and wives are in strife with one another that their prayers will be hindered because our relationship with God, depends upon right relationships with others. When we are praying about something, we need to ask the lord to point out any strife or anger that might be hindering our prayers. A lot of times when a church is not being blessed the way it should be, it is because there is strife and disunity among the body. Prayers are hindered as a result of that. Faith won’t work in an unforgiving and angry heart. Another deceit from the pit of hell is this; A pastor or prophet that refuse to forgive his fellow minister or members and still stand before the altar and preach and pray with passion but all, under a close heaven. Unforgiven spirit is an hindrance to Prayer.(Read Matthew 6:12). To be continue tomorrow morning by God’s Grace. Good morning and do have a great day, peace.

Prayer point: Holy Spirit, deliver me from the spirit of unforgiveness, anger and bitterness against my brethren in Jesus Christ name. Amen!
