Scripture Reading: Psalm 51 1-3

“Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; According to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my wickedness and guilt And cleanse me from my sin. For I am conscious of my transgressions and I acknowledge them; My sin is always before me.”(AMP)

David’s prayer for mercy after Nathan delivered God’s message to him for killing Uriah because of Bathsheba his wife.

Yesterday, we started looking at repentance and brokenness as TURNING AWAY FROM SIN AND A TURNING TOWARDS GOD. I also added to it that, no secret sin shall be hidden from the Lord because He fill both the heaven and the earth. So therefore, every sin shall be reveal and brought to light. Today, we shall be observing some STEPS that will define your genuine repentance:

1) DEFINE THE SIN : Let your sin be known to God. You don’t have to hide it from a saving hand (God). Verse 3 says; “For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.” David knew exactly the sin he has committed after prophet Nathan pronounce his deeds and punishment.

DON’T HIDE THE ROTTENNESS OF YOUR PAST TO GOD, Failure to define your sin to God is death. And that is the plan of the devil, in deceiving you not to open up to God. The more you keep hiding your sin, the more you keep running round a circle.

2) APPEAL TO GOD’S MERCY : Verse 1 says; “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.” Just as David did, you must always ask for God’s mercy after which you might have define your sin to Him. NOTE: GOD CAN AND WILL NOT SHOWS MERCY TO A SIN THAT IS NOT DEFINE. For you to obtain God’s mercy, you must confess your hidden sin. To be continue tomorrow morning by God’s Grace. Good morning and do have a great Friday, peace.

Prayer points: Thank you Jesus for your saving Grace. I free myself from the deceit of the devil in Jesus name. Amen!
