*TOPIC: BENEFITS OF MEDITATION.*(Series 6) *Scripture Reading:* Isaiah 26:3 *“You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation]."*(AMP) *4) We shall find the secret of living peacefully in a chaotic world:* Notice the word “steadfast” in Isaiah 26:3. It refers to a quiet, unhurried, relaxed, waiting in the presence of God until our minds become stabilized with His truth. Everywhere there is fear and there are alarms, Sin abounds and God’s judgments are surely near. All this is foretold in God’s Word; but in that same Word, we find confidence in the knowledge that God is working out His purpose for the world, the Jews and for the Church. Before long Jesus will return, and ultimately He will be King of kings and Lord of lords. We do not feel the power of these great truths by a casual reading of Scripture. Meditation is needed. Read Luke 21:28; *"Now when these things begin to occur, stand tall and lift up your heads [in joy], because [suffering ends as] your redemption is drawing near.”*(AMP). *5) We shall bow humbly to the sovereign will of our loving Lord in all His dealings with us and with others:* It is easy to quote Romans 8:28 that says; *"And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose."*(AMP). When all is going well, but it is not so easy when we are faced with some crushing sorrow. It is only as we really get to know our Lord, through quiet waiting upon Him and through meditation in His Word, that we are able to trust Him and lean upon Him in the dark hour. If we will regularly meditate, we will never get bitter when God’s hand is resting heavily upon us, or upon our loved ones or friends because we shall be able to say; *"But He knows the way that I take [and He pays attention to it]. When He has tried me, I will come forth as [refined] gold [pure and luminous]."*(AMP Job 23:10) and we shall appreciate the truth of Psalm 37:23-24 and will be able to rest quietly upon John 13:7; *"Jesus replied to him, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but you will [fully] understand it later.”*(AMP).
