The Federal Government reports that 25 million Nigerians have received a conditional cash transfer of ₦25,000. Minister of Finance Wale Edun announced this on October 31, after the National Economic Council meeting, chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima in Abuja. Edun stated that five million households have benefited from direct transfers as part of efforts to mitigate the impact of fuel subsidy removal. Additionally, 11,000 beneficiaries received ₦3.5 billion from the consumer credit scheme in the last five days, and over ₦90 billion has been disbursed to 500,000 students under the student loan scheme.
