*PAY ATTENTION TO GOD'S PROMISES RATHER THAN THE DEVIL'S LIES.*(Series 3) *Scripture Reading:* Genesis 3:1-3 *"Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, ’You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?" The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ’You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die."*(NIV) Our today's Scripture talks about how we are to meditate on God's instructions and promises so as not to be a victim of deceit from the devil. But God's not the only one making promises to you. Every day, the Devil makes promises to you too, but all of his promises are lies. *"If you sin, you will be happier," this is the Devil's favorite lie, his an expert in it. Satan used it on Adam and Eve and he truly got them: "If you eat of that forbidden fruit, I promise you, you will be happier. You will be like God, knowing good and evil."* Adam and Eve believed that promise, and as it turned out, they weren't happier. They were miserable. Why, It was a lie. The Devil does the same thing to you today: "If you sin, you will be happier," isn't? *The Devil says; "If you cheat in the exams all, you'll be happier, because you'll get better grades. If you smoke or drink or do any kind of drugs in the secret, you'll be happier, because you'll feel a buzz or a high and it will help you relax." Also, there's nothing wrong in small small fornication and adultery. Stop disturbing your wife or husband, there are young girls and young boys that can satisfy you better. These are the false promises the Devil whispers in every person's ear and the end thereof is death. "If you gossip, you'll be happier, because everyone will want to hear what you have to say."* Have you ever believed those promises? They don't come true, you know. The gossiping student eventually loses all of his or her friends because no one trusts him or her. The drinker or the drug addict eventually can't pay bills and or hold down a job and doesn't have any real friends because of his destructive behavior. The cheater keeps living a double life, but the guilt starts to gnaw at him, and his lies start to catch up to him. He's not happier. Nobody's happy. It was all a lie, a promise from the Devil that didn't come true. *You will not be happier if you sin. Sin is destructive and it all emanate from false promises and lies from the devil which later resulted into everlasting destruction.* To be continue tomorrow morning by God's Grace.
