*THE DANGER OF SELF PRAISE.* (Series 1) *"This is what the LORD says: "Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the LORD."*(Jeremiah 9:23-24). Our exaltation is the will of God, but God hate the sin of self-exaltation(self-praise), but rather wants us to humble ourselves for Him to exalt us in due season. Boasting about your service to God or to humanity doesn't glorify God for God hates self exaltation. Rather, desire to boast about knowing the Lord and His mighty power of working miracles.*Self-exaltation naturally follows self-deception. We deceive ourselves into thinking we are greater than we really are. This usually leads to some misbehaviours and manifestations of prideful attitudes towards others.* Galatians 9:14 says; *"May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world."* What is wrong with this type of exaltation is that it is by self: trying to elevate one’s status, position, importance, and so on, by self and it does not please God. *Those who exalt themselves set themselves against God. Self-exaltation starts with self-deception. Someone deceives himself that he is the best or is better than the rest.* A self-exalted person deceives himself to believe that a certain seat, position or honour is for him because there is nobody as brilliant or as qualified as he is. 1 Peter 5:5-6 also declare; *"In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble." Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time."* Hear this: GOD IS INTERESTED IN YOUR EXALTATION BUT HE IS AGAINST SELF - EXALTATION. *No matter what you are doing for God or God is using you for, the day you start exalting yourself, that's the day you start going down!* Learn.
