TOPIC: WHAT DO YOU STAND TO GAIN?*(Series 12) *Scripture Reading:* 1 Samuel 31:4-5 *"Saul said to his armor bearer, “Draw your sword and pierce me through with it, otherwise these uncircumcised [Philistines] will come and pierce me through and abuse and mock me.” But his armor bearer would not, because he was terrified [of doing such a thing]. So Saul took his sword and fell on it. When his armor bearer saw that Saul was dead, he also fell on his sword and died with him."*(AMP) Glory be to the name of the Lord, for His unmeasurable Grace and mercy at the cause of this series. As I bring it to a conclusion this morning, it's my earnest prayer that the Holy Spirit will grant you more revelation in Jesus name. We are called to love people, not just in words, but in action. Is it possible to get to that point as lover of Christ? TOPIC: WHAT DO YOU STAND TO GAIN?*(Series 11) *Scripture Reading:* 2 Samuel 1:11-12 *"Then David grasped his own clothes and tore them [in mourning]; so did all the men who were with him. They mourned and wept and fasted until evening for Saul and Jonathan his son, and for the Lord’s people and the house of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword [in battle]."*(AMP) Lesson 3: David’s Love For People. As we look at another point. David was motivated by love. Not only did he love the Lord, but also love God's people. Now, David didn’t always do the right thing, but we catch a glimpse of the heart of David in 2 Samuel 1:11-12, today's scripture, it says, *“Then David and all the men with him took hold of their clothes and tore them. They mourned and wept and fasted till evening for Saul and his son Jonathan, and for the army of the Lord and the house of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword.”* In David’s eyes, Saul was not an enemy, but many of us would look to Saul as our enemy. When you look around you this morning, understand the person you are thinking should be the cause of your problem is not your enemy. Until you possess the kind right heart of David, you can't recognize your main enemy. *When you fight the wrong person, you can never get the right result but the moment you focus on the right person, you will weaken his strategies ways and then overcome.* You don't kill a tree by cutting it branches, you uproot it completely and the tree dies. When you look at me, understand that I am not your enemy, even though we disagree, we are not enemies, our enemy is the devil and his army. *This is the first thing to understand, then uproot his strategies way of attacking and influencing both humans and materials things in waging war against you.* To be continue tomorrow morning by God's Grace. *TOPIC: WHAT DO YOU STAND TO GAIN?*(Series 10) *Scripture Reading:* 1 Samuel 26:15-16 *"David said to Abner, “Are you not a [brave] man? Who is like you in Israel? Why then have you not guarded your lord the king? For one of the people came [into your camp] to kill the king your lord. This thing that you have done is not good. As the Lord lives, you surely deserve to die, because you have not guarded your lord, the Lord’s anointed. And now, see where the king’s spear is, and the jug of water that was by his head.”*(AMP) Continuation from where we stopped yesterday: We need to take a lesson from David and stop the gossip, slander and misunderstandings about one another in the congregation of God. We need to critically study the life of David so as to really help us on how to respond to some tough situation amidst brethren. David stopped the group of men in the cave, and told them not to harm Saul. But I put it to you today that I have seen countless times when ministers of God are after their lives all in the name of ranks, position, authority, influence, connection, fame, etc. Will the Lord be please with this act? *David specifically ordered Abishai, not to harm Saul because he's the Lord's anointed and he has respect and honor for higher authority. If we all possess this same heart, the church of God, would have been heaven on earth.* You see church talking about someone even though you are right and they are wrong is still wrong. There's need to be a respect for authority, number is people’s lives, but there also needs to be a respect for each other. If that is lost or not pursued in the tough times, we will wake up like Saul. Pursue respect for authority and one another in the good times of your life, so that when hard times come, when people do harm to you, you will be able to respond out of love because you developed it in your life, just like David did. *Prayer point:* Dear Lord, give me a right heart to always do your will and always keep your ordinances in Jesus Christ name.
