A Federal High Court in Awka, Anambra State, Presided by Justice Evelyn Anyadike, has Convicted 36 Individuals for Internet-Related Offences. The convicts pleaded guilty to charges of impersonation, obtaining by false pretence, and possession of fraudulent documents. Arrested on November 1, 2024, in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, they were found to have defrauded foreign nationals using fake WhatsApp and Facebook accounts. Justice Anyadike sentenced each convict to eight months imprisonment or a fine of N70,000 and ordered the forfeiture of mobile phones and laptops to the Federal Government.
