NSCDC NEWS NSCDC BOSS CALLS FOR GLOBAL COOPERATION ON INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has joined five other countries in China for a seminar on Sustainable Utilization Technology of Special Plants, from November 20 to December 10, 2024. The seminar, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM) and organized by the China-based National Academy of Forestry and Grassland Administration (NAFGA), aimed to promote sustainable development and environmental protection. In his presentation, the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, emphasized the need for international cooperation to address the challenges of deforestation, lack of infrastructure, and climate change affecting the utilization of special plants in Africa and Nigeria. Dr. Audi, represented by Deputy Commandant General Pedro Awili Ideba, highlighted the potential of special plants found in Nigeria, such as Prunus Africana (African Cherry) and Chinchona Officialis (Quinine tree), for sustainable development and environmental protection.
